Ready, Steady, BAKE!
At both l’École de Baincthun and l’École de Conteville, the CM pupils worked on the project Let’s Bake!
The project consisted of learning English in a practical environment, learning how to bake whilst learning English!
I introduced the 5 recipes (Oat and Banana cake, Brownies, Carrot cake, Orange cake and Lemon cake) and we spent the first week working on the vocabulary: ingredients, utensils and action verbs.
During the next 5 weeks, a group of 4/5 pupils would bake one of the recipes each week. Practicing their comprehension skills when being asked to ‘Measure the sugar’ or ‘Pour into the bowl’.
Of course, at the end, we would all eat a piece of cake together!
We then started working on the construction and layout of a recipe in order to create our own recipe book.
At l’Ecole de Baincthun they chose the book title of ‘THE SUPER CAKES’ and at l’Ecole de Conteville they chose ‘READY, STEADY, BAKE’.
Each pupil designed their own book cover and have typed/written all the recipes.
I hope they enjoyed this project as much as I did!
I want to be..
With the CE1 group at l’Ecole de Conteville we worked on the book ‘I want to be’ by Tony Ross.
After reading the story, understanding the key vocabulary and then getting the pupils to practice their reading skills, we decided to make a little play out of the book.
We practiced, prepared our costumes and then presented the play to the CE2 and CP pupils.
We had a lot of fun!
Yoga @ Home – Conteville
Following our yoga lessons, we made our Yoga @ Home cards. We cut and stick the photos and name cards and made sure we put the right name with the right pose.
Now we can carry on practicing at home!

Yoga @ Conteville
Avec CP et CE1 de Conteville on a fait des séances de Yoga en Anglais.
En petites groupes, on a travaillé 8 postures de yoga : Sun, Mountain, Tree, Rain, Butterfly, Bird, Caterpillar et Relax.
On a réussi à faire les postures et aussi comprendre les consignes en Anglais.
En liaison avec le vocabulaire on a lit le livre : The very hungry caterpillar
Apres, le CE1 on a travaillé une fiche avec des images du Soleil, montagne, arbre etc. et ils ont écrit le nom de l’image qui correspond à chaque image. Ils ont pratiqué l’alphabet et comment épeler les mots.
Les CP ont travaillé une fiche diffèrent, j’ai dit un mot comme par exemple ‘Butterfly’ et ils ont dessine. On a travaillé les vocabulaires et la compréhension.
Pour la dernière cour avant les vacances on va faire une fiche ‘Yoga @ Home’ avec des photos des élevés avec chaque posture de yoga pour pouvoir faire yoga à la maison.

Baking in Bainchtun
Avec la classe de CM1 + CM2 on a commencé un projet de cuisine en Anglais.
Nous avons commencé pour connaître et apprendre le vocabulaire des ingrédients, des ustensiles nécessaires et les actions de cuisiner.
Ensuite, chaque semaine, un petit groupe de 4 élevés va cuisiner avec moi. On revoit les ingrédients, ustensiles et les élèves doivent suivre les consignes en Anglais pour bien préparer le gâteau.
La première recette : ‘Oat and Banana cake’ a été très bien reçu pour la classe.

Let’s Bake!
At l’Ecole de Conteville, with CM and CE2, we have started our own Bake Off!
Each week, a group of 4 students will be baking a different recipe. We are learning a lot of new vocabulary; including the ingredients (such as flour, sugar, butter, oats, cranberries, oil), the utensils (such as spatula, chopping board, mixing bowl, spoon, fork, knife) and the method (for example chop, measure, mix, pour). We are also learning cooking skills and working together as a group.
We made a list of the ingredients and utensils as well as writing the process of how we made the cake.
Week 1: Oat & Banana Cake

We cut the cake in 22 pieces so everyone could try a bit (including the teachers).
We are going to put together a recipe for everyone so they can make it at home!
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
This week, at the Ecole de Baincthun with the class of TPS/PS/MS we watched a cartoon video of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
We then looked at Daddy Bear, Mummy Bear and Baby Bear and tried to find the best bowl, chair and bed for each one.

Nous avons fait des Cartes de Noël!
À l’École de Conteville, nous avons fait des cartes de Noël pour donner à l’association des personnes âgées.
En petits groupes de 4 – 5 élevés on a commencé pour faire la mélange de peinture bleu et jaune pour avoir la peinture verte. Après on a fait un sapin avec notre doigt en comptant en anglais.
L’étape suivante, on a décoré le sapin avec la peinture dorée et des crayons de couleurs. On a appris le vocabulaire de Noel en Anglais; star, present, angel, snowflake, Santa, Christmas tree…
